The object of Battle of the Bands is to allow the performer to get their music out there, get recognized and win some prizes.  We want you to have fun and show off your skills.  We also want to fill the day with music and make sure the audience is entertained.  We are keeping it simple and there are only a few rules.

Rules:

bulletNo profane or vulgar language or lyrics.   You must keep in mind that this is a family event and some may find it offensive.  We are asking that you tame it down for the type of audience we have.  If you feel you cannot modify offensive lyrics in a way that is acceptable to all, we ask that you not continue with the competition.
bulletNo nudity or vulgar movements.  Don't do anything that you wouldn't want your five-year-old to see.  We know it's hot and you want to dress cool.  Just don't show anything that granny wouldn't want to see.  Oh yea, and don't wear a strategically placed sock.  No thongs allowed.
bulletAll Genres are accepted.  We want to give all bands a chance to perform their favorite types of music.  Your performance time will be based on genres.
bulletCover tunes are acceptable.  We know that not all bands have their own music.  We also know that it is hard for you to win over a crowd if they don't know your music.  Therefore, we are allowing you to play cover tunes.
bulletTime limits.  Time limits will be based on how many bands enter the competition.  Come prepared.  We may let you play several songs.  If there are 10 bands, each band will have 30 minutes to set up and play. If there are 15 bands, that would only give you 20 minutes to set up and play.  Some bands/individuals may not require set up at all.
bulletPerformance Time.  You will be notified by email of your performance time.  It will also be posted on the schedule page.  The amount of performance time depends on how many bands enter the competition and how much time you take to set up.  If there are 15 bands, each band will have 20 minutes to setup and perform.  If there are 10 bands, each band will have 30 minutes to setup and perform.

Judging will be based on:

bulletStage presence
bulletMusical ability
bulletCrowd participation
bulletOriginality
bulletOverall sound
bulletGroove
bulletPersonality
bulletHow  you jell as a unit all in one
